🌡 Why We Love Selenicereus

We love Selenicereus because of its graceful growth and extraordinary flowers.

Its long, climbing or trailing stems create an entirely different character from the familiar rounded and columnar cacti. When it blooms, its large and often fragrant flowers can transform an ordinary-looking plant into something truly spectacular.

For us, Selenicereus is a beautiful reminder that some of nature’s greatest wonders appear quietly, sometimes under the cover of night.

🌡 About Selenicereus

Selenicereus belongs to the cactus family, Cactaceae, and includes climbing, trailing, and sometimes terrestrial species. The plants are native to tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas.

The genus is particularly well known for its large, showy flowers, many of which open at night. Some species are also important horticulturally and are cultivated for their fruits and ornamental value.

🌡 The Green Desert Collection

The Selenicereus collection is part of the continuing work of the Green Desert Botanical Library to document, preserve, and share knowledge about plants cultivated and studied within the Green Desert collection.

New specimens and plant profiles may be added as the collection continues to grow.
