π΅ Why We Love Rebutia
We love Rebutia because of its small size, beautiful forms, and remarkable flowers.
Despite their compact bodies, these little cacti can produce an abundance of colorful blooms that often appear around the sides of the plant. Their cheerful flowers and tendency to form clusters give them a lively presence in the collection.
For us, Rebutia is a reminder that even the smallest plants can create an extraordinary display of beauty.
π΅ About Rebutia
Rebutia is a group of small cacti traditionally recognized for their globose to short-cylindrical bodies, closely spaced ribs or tubercles, and numerous small spines. They are associated primarily with the mountainous regions of Bolivia and Argentina.
Modern botanical classification has changed the treatment of Rebutia and related groups, with some plants historically placed in Rebutia now included in other genera. The name remains widely used in horticulture and among cactus enthusiasts.
π΅ The Green Desert Collection
The Rebutia collection is part of the continuing work of the Green Desert Botanical Library to document, preserve, and share knowledge about plants cultivated and studied within the Green Desert collection.
New specimens and plant profiles may be added as the collection continues to grow.
